Section 4: FAQ

Can I facilitate this alone?

You can, but we encourage you to find a partner or a small team to help. It’s always better to facilitate with others when possible.

Do I need to follow the 4-day schedule?

If you would like to publicly list your Captivating CORE on the Wild at Heart website for anyone to find and attend, then yes, we require you to follow the schedule exactly. (LINK TO COME) The reason we require you to follow the schedule is because, as we promote CORE events on our website to thousands of people, we want to guarantee to the participants that they’re all being led the exact same way. As well, having had done these for over a decade, we’ve learned this schedule works well.

That being said, we’re certainly behind you if God is leading you to host on a different schedule. We understand it is sometimes necessary. We will happily bless any schedule you choose—including weekly gatherings for the 11 weeks. If you’d like to host a CORE and deviate from the CORE schedule laid out in this Facilitator’s guide, make sure you register your CORE and then choose the option to remove it from the website listings. This way you’ll still receive your note-taking guides and all of the CORE benefits.

What about meals?

It is best to have simple, ready-made meals that don’t require much to prepare. If prep and cleanup take more than 10 minutes, we recommend having a dedicated person not involved in the event to do it. This is because we don't want anyone to miss sessions or the Reflection Time with God because of meals. Here are a few creative options for meals, and remember that the end goal is to keep it simple:

  • Catering — Especially if you are at an event center, they may offer meals or catering
  • Take-out — so many restaurants deliver now
  • Sandwich platters — made yourself ahead of time or from the grocery
  • Salad Bar — everything can be chopped up ahead of time
  • Each attendee can claim a meal — they can do take-out, or do their prep during the free times
  • Ask the ladies to bring desserts and snacks to share during the event

Mealtime—not the sessions—is also the chance to make any “housekeeping announcements.”

It is also helpful to have some sort of “bell” to announce when it’s mealtime. Often, there are Reflection Times with God before a meal. If your attendees understand and expect to hear a “bell” to announce lunch/dinner, they can fully enter into that time with God, and not have to pay attention to a clock. Because women may find a private location, make sure it is appropriately loud enough.

Should I charge women to attend CORE?

We provide our content and notebooks to you free, at no charge. Our assumption is the only additional costs would be meals and perhaps a facility charge. Some facilitators choose to absorb these costs. Others charge a minimal fee to each attendee to have those extra costs covered.

Does attending CORE fulfill the requirement for Advanced Captivating?

Yes, when you attend CORE it’s just like attending a Captivating retreat. Your attendance at CORE meets the requirement to attend an Advanced Captivating hosted by Wild at Heart Ministries.

How Do I play the Sessions: Why can’t I use the DVDs?

Free downloads of all of the sessions are available in Section 6. (LINK TO COME)

You’ll want to use a laptop that has an HDMI output to connect to your TV or projector. We recommend downloading the sessions in case the internet isn’t available or working at your facility.

What is the Facilitator's Touchpoint referenced in the schedule?

A Facilitator Touchpoint is a time for your group of facilitators to gather together and check in with each other and with God. You may use this time to pray for each other and for your attendees and to ask God for direction into your CORE weekend.

What are the ground rules for CORE?

Great question. It starts with pledging absolute confidentiality. Nothing shared during CORE gets repeated outside the group, unless specific permission is given. This is vital, as the mission is to create a safe and sacred environment for a woman to encounter God in the depths of her feminine heart and soul.

Facilitators, be slow to offer advice. Let God lead this. As a woman, our heart is to nurture and take care of others. Trust God here. Less is more. Create space for God, and he will show up.

Prayer is the backbone. It’s not a religious act—it’s the lifeblood of God’s supernatural work in and through CORE. Pray before the event starts, consecrating the women, the space, and every aspect of the mission. (LINK TO COME: CONSECRATION VIDEO)  Pray continually during the event, and ask a few trusted allies to serve as intercessory prayer warriors for these four days.

Pray after the event. Pray against retaliation. Release each of the attendees to God. Pray for the full authority of Heaven for over God has done and is doing in the heart of each woman who attended.

See it through to the end. You’ll face opposition. It’s all part of his training for your role in the Kingdom. Don’t lose heart. You’re not alone. What you are doing matters, and is important work for God’s kingdom. See it through, and he’ll give you every resource you need for it to be realized.

Finally, please give us feedback. We want to invest in you. We want to invest in these women so that your communities will be strengthened and become a center for God’s Kingdom advancement. Every bit of feedback helps us offer more.

Dear one, we are so proud of you. We admire your courage to give this a try.

You’ll never regret it.

The lives of many rest in the courage of a few.

You are rare. You are his delight.

With hope and for his glory,

The Captivating Team
