Section 3: The CORE Schedule

IMPORTANT NOTES:

  • All sessions will be taught by the Captivating team via video. Please do not add to or take away from the content / schedule.
  • The participants will need to fully unplug. You can reassure them by providing an “emergency contact number” (these calls will go to you as the facilitator). The participants can then make one last call or e-mail to give that number to those who may need it. Then have the attendees turn off all devices. The outside world will try to distract people. This will be one of the best decisions you make.
  • Built into the CORE schedule are “covenants of silence” (or what we refer to as Reflection Time with God") with the purpose of the women having dedicated time to hear from God, journal, and go deeper into the issues raised in the sessions. These times of silence are the centerpiece of CORE, and as the facilitator, it will be your role to encourage, preserve and protect these times.

WORSHIP

Playlists are provided through Spotify, and you will need a Spotify account to access them. You can sign up for either a paid or free account, however, with a free account, ads will interrupt so we recommend upgrading to the premium (paid) account to avoid the disruption, at least for the duration of your event.

  • You will find the playlist links available on the specific day’s schedule.
  • Every session includes one or two opening worship songs; we encourage you to stick to this list, not adding more songs, so the schedule stays on track. The opening worship purpose is to simply take a few moments to help the women recenter into a space with God.
  • There are three optional times of extended worship: (1) The evening of Day 2, (2) The evening of Day 3, and (3) At the closing of the event on Day 4.
  • Slides with lyrics are not provided, but can be helpful. You may consider taking time before the event to create slides with the song's lyrics for the worship times, but it is not required. You can create these through ProPresenter, Powerpoint, or any other program that will work for you. We don’t recommend that you provide slides with lyrics for the extended worship on Day 2, after the Your New Name session. This time is intended to be a soaking worship experience.

There is also a playlist available to play between sessions if that works for your setting. You can find that playlist by clicking here.

FREE TIME

Free time is offered on two afternoons. Here are a few ideas of what the women can do as applicable. Feel free to offer whatever fits the environment and your group:

  • Coffee and Tea — it's so helpful to have this available as much as possible. You may even want to assign someone to keep the coffee pot filled
  • Reading
  • Hot tub — remind the ladies in the preliminary emails to bring their swimsuit if there are options to use it
  • Board games and puzzles
  • Crafts/paints/whimsical coloring books and colored pencils
  • Outdoor games
  • Hiking

After the video is over, talk to the attendees to let them know the evening is concluded. Also, let them know what time breakfast is, and when the first session starts tomorrow.

Remind them what Stasi said the night before: that this is a time to honor the silence and meet with God, and that they will hear the meal "bell" when the time with God is over. They can then go to lunch.
  • After your welcome, if you are interested in beginning this session with a worship song, click here.
  • As the video ends for this session, you will see a still image of a whale. At that point, you can play this song, which will be the beginning of the first Reflection Time With God: I am Set Free song

11:00 - 11:45 a.m.

  • Reflection Time with God (Mandatory Silence)
  • Facilitator Touchpoint (While the attendees are meeting with God, this is a good time for you, as facilitators, to check in with the each other and to pray for each other if needed, for the women during their time with God, the afternoon and coming sessions, and whatever else God has for you)

Time with God (Mandatory Silence). Tonight, you can have an optional time of worship after the session which will be the Reflection Time with God. You can find a playlist for tonight’s extended worship by clicking here

During the Wild at Heart Captivating event, we give the women white stones at the end of this session, for them to write their “New Names” on, as a take-away to remember. This is optional for your event, but if you choose to do offer the stones, here are a few tips:

  • Provide enough stones for each woman, plus a few extra. Purchase smooth stones to make writing easy.
  • Provide sharpies (they can be shared) for the women to write their names on the stones.
  • When the video is over, but before the soaking worship time begins, gently announce to the women that you have a gift for them, stones to write their names on. Reiterate that this is a Reflection Time with God, and the silence is to be honored. You can leave the stones at the front of the room for the women to come and get. Let them know that if they don’t hear from God, that’s ok, and they can take one for later.

Before you sleep tonight, be sure to take some time for a Facilitator Touchpoint and to pray through anything needed before bed. The Bedtime Prayer may be helpful.

7:00 - 8:30 p.m.

Session 9 – Come Closer

  • Before you start, let the ladies know how the session will end—with communion and extended worship.
    • Let them know they have almost an hour, so there is plenty of time to take communion.
    • If you are showing a movie tonight, let them know when it will start after worship. (time to grab a snack and get comfy).
    • If you are offering other activities, announce them.
    • The purpose is to let them know what happens after worship, even if it’s nothing, so they understand when the session is “over”.
    • Also, announce what time breakfast is, and when the first session starts tomorrow.
  • If you are interested in beginning this session with worship, click here

End: Communion and Extended Worship

  • Tonight, you can have a time of communion and worship after the session, a time to come closer as God is calling us.
  • Plan for communion: Grape Juice or wine, communion bread or wafers. Consider those who may be gluten-free.
  • Be prepared to play the worship list after the video ends. You can find a playlist by clicking here

8:45 p.m.
Optional Movie: At this point in CORE, encourage the women to pray and ask God what they need. Maybe it’s some extra rest. Maybe it’s some downtime by a campfire making s'mores. Maybe it’d be good for their hearts to put on their pajamas, relax and enjoy a movie that features the narrative of CORE. If you choose to offer an optional film, here are a few suggestions:

Pride and Prejudice
Anna and the King
The Help
Shall We Dance
The Greatest Showman
Cinderella (Disney 2015)

Facilitators: Again, before you sleep tonight, be sure to take some time for a Facilitator Touchpoint and to pray through anything needed before bed. Here is the link to the Bedtime Prayer if that was helpful.

  • Session 11 – Where Do We Go From Here?
  • There is no opening worship song for this session, as you will close with an extended time of worship
  • Near the end of this video session, there is time for final extended worship. This is optional but recommended, and Stasi does not queue it up in the session. You will need to pause the video at the time code 21:15 to enter into the worship time.
  • Be prepared to play the worship set once you pause the video.
    • You can find a playlist for this final time of worship by clicking here.
  • After the worship time ends, restart the video and play the closing remarks from Stasi and the team. When this ends, feel free to add any closing remarks and/or prayer as you feel lead.
  • After this session, there is time for final extended worship. This is optional, and Stasi does not queue it up in the session. Because of this, after the worship time ends, you as facilitators can close the event as God leads.

12:00 p.m.
Optional Lunch: You can provide lunch as best fits your group, or allow the attendees to leave and grab lunch on their own.
