Part 1

Part 1 – How does a man become a man--and know that he is one? For centuries, boys and men followed a process of masculine initiation, a journey God put in the heart of every boy. But we lost that, about the same time we lost a father-centered view of the world, and lost so many of our own fathers. Most men, and most boys growing up these days, have no man to guide them in their journey to become a man. But there is hope.Join John Eldredge as he reveals how God comes to a man as Father, and invites him on a journey of masculine initiation. John walks through the stages of the journey – from Boyhood to the Cowboy, the Warrior, the Lover, the King, the Sage – and shows us how we can offer this to our sons as well.

Healing the Wound

At the core of the Gospel is Jesus' invitation of restoration. In this utterly transforming teaching, John Eldredge helps his listeners unpack the wounds that have shattered their hearts, and also offers a guided prayer—a journey of restoration by the hand of God. Discover the true promise of the Gospel—the healing of our hearts. You have never known love quite like this. After you listen to the Healing the Wound session, we encourage you to take some time to be with God, and reflect on these questions with him:1. Every little boy needs to know that he is deeply and profoundly loved by his father. He needs delight and he needs validation. Every one of us was meant to hear from our father the answer to your question: Do I have what it takes?2. Bring your wounded heart to God and ask him: Father do you love me? Am I your delight?3. Ask Jesus to come and heal your wounded places as a man, to strengthen you, so that you can live as the man you want to be.

Part 2

Part 2 – In Epic: The Larger Story, John Eldredge suggests that life, for most of us, feels like a movie we've arrived to forty minutes late. We find ourselves in the middle of a story that is sometimes wonderful, sometimes awful, but usually a confusing mixture of both. And, we haven't a clue how to make sense of it all. No wonder we keep losing heart. We need to know the rest of the story. Ours is a great story that began before the dawn of time. A story of adventure, risk, loss, heroism, and betrayal. This audio teaching is the Gospel like you've never heard it before. There is a Larger Story. And you have an irreplaceable role to play. After you listen to the Epic session, we encourage you to take some time to be with God, and reflect on these questions with him:1. Do you live like you are a part of a larger story?2. If not, then how do you look at life? Is it random? Is it drudgery? Is it routine?3. If you could live in a larger story, what story do you want to live in?

02 – From Wild at Heart Advanced

Session 2: Recorded Live at a Wild at Heart AdvancedAsk the men you know to name their favorite movies. Nine times out of ten, they will be stories of great battles, fought against desperate odds.God set this desire in the heart of every man because every man will find himself in a great battle. The Bible promises it is so. We live in a world at war, an epic struggle of good and evil begun before the dawn of time. Learning how to fight in this battle is essential for every man.Recorded live at our Wild at Heart Advanced retreat, John Eldredge explains the place of spiritual warfare in our lives, how to identify it, and more importantly, how to win against our adversary. This teaching has set countless men (and women) free. After you listen to the Battle to Fight session, we encourage you to take some time to be with God, and reflect on these questions with him:1. What are the agreements? As Jesus to reveal to you…Lord, what agreements have I been making with my enemy? Now, renounce them; break them.2. Ask Jesus to reveal to you… Lord, what is set against my life right now? What is it that I am battling with that is, in fact, the enemy’s assault on my life?

Part 1 – With Craig McConnell

God is at work in your life. And, one of the things God is doing is bringing us to a point where we want to see ourselves as God sees us. How does God see you right now? What words would you use to describe who you are? What names have you embraced that others have given you?2. 01 – Rescuing the Beauty

Part 1: Rescuing the Beauty (recorded live at a Wild at Heart Boot Camp) – For a long time now we’ve wanted to speak to men – on the record – about issues men wrestle with when it comes to women and beauty and sexuality. But how to approach the subject in a way both honest and helpful? We think we've finally done it.After you listen to the Men Talking About Women session, we encourage you to take some time to be with God, and reflect on these questions with him:1. Most men turn to Eve for validation. And, at some time in our lives, we have taken our question to Eve. How has that been true for you? What is the fruit of that? What does it feel like to take your question to Eve? What is it you are looking for from Eve?2. We’re looking for mercy, love, comfort, life…we’re looking for God. When is the pull strongest for you to turn to pornography, masturbation, fantasies? What’s going on inside of you in those moments?

The Heart of a Man

What have you done with your heart as a man? Deep in the heart of every man are three core desires: 1. To fight a great battle. 2. To live in an epic adventure. 3. To rescue the beauty. In this powerful resource, John Eldredge awakens the heart of a man and illuminates the battle, the adventure, and the beauty... the Life that is truly life. All men die. Few men ever really live. What kind of man do you want to be?After you listen to the Heart of a Man session, we encourage you to take some time to be with God, and reflect on these questions with him:1. Think of the movies that you love. What are your favorite films? Then, think about why you love those movies. What does the hero have that you wish you could have?  2. If Jesus were sitting next to you right now, and you could ask him to do anything in the world for you right now, what would you ask him?
