We do not want to be those who run ahead of our King by chasing after our good ideas. We want to submit our good ideas to Him and wait for His orders. That is the posture of a mature bride, a true partner. “What would you have me do, Jesus? Speak? Move? Bring up the topic? Have the conversation? Start the ministry? How would You have me spend my time? What would You have me read? Where would You like me to go?” There is not an area of our life that is meant to remain apart from Him. We ask. We follow. We share our lives.
We don’t have to strive to reach Him. He has already reached us and is closer to us than our breath. We just need to sink in, sink down into our hearts where He lives. Tune in. His Presence is within and is always available and accessible to us. We can live aware of Him every moment.
This kind of relationship with Jesus is for all of us. For some it may feel more natural or come more easily than for others. Not to worry. Like any other worthy goal to attain— and experiencing Jesus moment to moment is a worthy goal— we practice it. We grow in our ability to live in union with God as we do. Take heart. It becomes easier and more natural over time.
To access Christ within will take intention and desire. It will require making Him the priority of our lives, including our schedules. It involves quieting ourselves, settling down, and turning inward in our thoughts toward God.

When you are thus turned toward God, you find it easy to return there again and again. The longer you continue to turn inward to God, the nearer you are drawn to him and the more firmly you adhere to him. By moving into that inmost sanctuary again and again, you will finally become so established in your conversion that it becomes natural, even habitual, to live in the presence of God. And where is God’s presence? God’s presence is where he lodges deep within.
We can ask for God’s help to do this. He loves to help us.
