What is the difference between Captivating Participant’s Guide and the Captivating Guided Journal?
The Captivating - Guided Journal will take you deeper than the Participant’s Guide, and was designed to provoke further exploration of your heart, and the heart of God. These pages have been developed for you and you alone. If you are in a group study, you may choose to share some with a group or just let it be space for you and God to be together.

The Captivating: Heart to Heart – Participant’s Guide (previously known as the Study Guide) is designed for use with a group. It was written to be used with the book Captivating, and as a companion for the DVD series, Captivating Heart to Heart. There are twelve chapters in the book, ten chapters in the DVD series, and ten chapters in the study guide. To get the most out of the experience, we suggest you read Captivating in full before beginning. Then, as you do your weekly study, reread the appropriate chapter(s) before answering the questions in the corresponding chapters of the study guide. All this to say, you may choose to be more creative and use the study and book together or a different combination of the resources.

What is the difference between Wild at Heart: Band of Brothers Participant’s Guide and the Field Manual?
The Band of Brothers Participant's Guide follows the eight 30-minute episodes in the DVD series Band of Brothers. This guide provides additional information and discussion questions designed to help small groups grow spiritually and bond with one another.

The Field Manual is a lengthier text with more questions to process and places to explore with God than the Participant’s Guide. Designed for personal use as a companion to the book Wild at Heart, it guides you through deeper, further study than most groups have time for.

What is the difference between the DVD series Wild at Heart: Band of Brothers and Wild at Heart LIVE?
The Wild at Heart: Band of Brothers series is an ideal place to start with your small group. There are several different ways to journey through the content. The ideal approach would be to have each man read the corresponding chapter in Wild at Heart, and do the work in the Participant’s Guide before you meet. Then your group can watch the video series for the week and discuss. The video series is presented in eight parts – each about 35 minutes long. You could do this study in eight weeks, or, because the content is prone to generate good discussion, and the leader may be inspired to throw in some other movie clips or linger on specific sections, it could easily last longer. And there are several other ideas for the logistics of leading a group listed in the facilitator's guide that comes with the Band of Brothers.

The Wild at Heart Boot Camp LIVE DVDs are a bit more in-depth. It is the direct footage from an actual Boot Camp. This would be more of an experience you would offer the men. It includes film clip titles and time codes, and does not include a Facilitator's Guide. The leader would need to allow prayer time and facilitate discussion after each session, which could also be a rich experience. We also recommended the How to Do a Men’s Boot Camp Retreat Kit to accommodate the DVD's for the leader’s reference.

In summary, either resource will have an impact. The Wild at Heart: Band of Brothers has more structure and more resources to assist the leader. The Wild at Heart Boot Camp LIVE is more experiential and with less structure to assist the leader.

What is the difference between Fathered By God and The Way of the Wild Heart?
In 2006 John released The Way of the Wild Heart - a deep and full book with guidance for men and for those raising boys. The title proved to be confusing; many people mistook it for Wild at Heart and unfortunately missed out on its contents.

In 2009, Wild at Heart stopped printing The Way of the Wild Heart and re-released it’s message as Fathered by God, which is a slimmer version of The Way of the Wild Heart, with the hope that the nine out of ten men who loved Wild at Heart, but missed out on the message of being fathered by God will discover it now, in all that they need to carry on the journey.

This book has study materials including a DVD series and Participant’s Guide. This is a wonderful place for your group of men to go after studying Wild at Heart.
