When we are wounded it takes great courage to seek assistance. We are hopeful we’ll find someone to care who won’t shame us. Someone who can really see us. I love nothing more than creating a shame-free space for people to feel seen and safe.

It’s essential that the relationship between client and therapist is built on safety. However, safety means something different to every client who sits in my office. We will explore what safety means to you, and at a pace that fits your needs.

Often, the thought of communicating about our pain, story, or fear keeps us from seeking help. As an art therapist, I love to watch clients find a new way to communicate through creativity. Everyone has the capacity to create. The language of creativity allows us to bypass the more familiar ways of communicating.

When art therapy is appropriate and the client is comfortable with it, it’s a powerful tool for expanding the healing process. The wounded parts of us are beautiful and deserve to be seen and known as much as the parts of us that appear lovely to others. Creativity can help these parts of us come alive again.

I am a licensed professional counselor candidate and art therapist. I specialize in working with teens, and young adults struggling with anxiety, depression, anger, trauma, loss, and the many complicated concerns that come in this season of life.

It’s my role to ensure we are heading where the client most desires to explore, and the client is always in charge of the direction of treatment. If you, your teen, or your young adult feel misunderstood, alone, or angry, we can help find that core self that feels so often missing. I would be honored to walk beside you in your healing.
