A man needs a deeper understanding of his masculine heart—and why God made him just like that. What if those deep desires in our hearts are telling us the truth, revealing to us the lives we were meant to live? A man must know he is powerful; he must know he has what it takes. The way we handle the heart is everything. Basic is not a retreat about the “seven things a man ought to do to be a nicer guy.” It is a four-day quest into the recovery of a man’s masculine soul, the release of a man’s heart—his passions and his true nature—all given him by God.
Wild at Heart BASIC - Black Hills 2023 is back for year three! The "Locking Shields" men's group from Rapid City, SD will be hosting this event and strive to make this weekend one to remember. This year's event will once again be held at Palmer Gulch Campground located just 10 minutes west of Mt. Rushmore. This facility is located in the heart of the Black Hills and offers stunning views of Black Elk Peak! Lodging accommodations will consist of either a cabin with multiple rooms or a "hotel style" room for double occupancy atendees. Throughout the weekend we will have ample time to enjoy God's beauty. The campground located in the spectacular Black Hills can accomodate: Hiking, Mt. Biking, Fishing, Kayaking, Road Biking, Basketball, Volleyball, Cornhole, Hot Tub and ATV rentals. We've learned one of the highlights of the weekend is just hanging out nightly by the campfire with the fellas! Bring appropriate gear and clothing if you are interested in any of these optional activities.
If you would rather take a nap, hammock, read or just sit and enjoy the hills, there is time set apart for you to unwind on Friday and Saturday afternoon so you can unplug and relax in God's beauty which He created for us! There will be no "small group time". Meaning, we will not break into small groups and talk. This weekend is between you and God.
You will be asked to turn your cell phone off for the weekend so you can fully unplug from the fast pace of life and fully commit to focusing on recovering your heart. Emergency contact number(s) will be provided for you to share with your family / spouse.
Space is limited and usually fills up quickly! $100 down secures your spot and is limited to the first 20 who register! Full payment is due by 8/10/23. Packing lists and recommendations will be emailed as the event draws near.
Price includes 3 nights lodging, 7 meals, snacks and a paper journal.
