A man needs a deeper understanding of his masculine heart—and why God made him just like that. What if those deep desires in our hearts are telling us the truth, revealing to us the lives we were meant to live? A man must know he is powerful; he must know he has what it takes. The way we handle the heart is everything. Basic is not a retreat about the “seven things a man ought to do to be a nicer guy.” It is a four-day quest into the recovery of a man’s masculine soul, the release of a man’s heart—his passions and his true nature—all given him by God.
When: Thurs-Sun, August 17-20, 2023 (arrive between 3:30pm and 5:00pm Thursday, depart after 12:30 Sunday)

Accommodations: Overnight lodging will be in cabins, bunk style. All cabins have electricity and air conditioning and provide a rustic yet comfortable experience. There is a restroom and shower inside each cabin, with additional restrooms and showers in bathhouses throughout the camp. For those who like to sleep outdoors, optional “outdoor bunks” are available on the screened-in back porches of the cabins. You can request a roommate, otherwise roommates will be assigned.
Cost: $225, includes lodging, all meals, camp activities, and retreat content.
We will be spending the weekend on 500 acres tucked into the rolling hills of East Tennessee, near the Georgia/Tennessee border. Free time is built into the retreat on Friday and Saturday afternoons. On-site and nearby activities are available including hiking, swimming, fishing, river tubing, etc. An optional adventure activity is also included (whitewater rafting, horseback riding, or paintball). You may want to bring a hammock and find a quiet spot by a stream to rest and soak in God’s beauty. In the evenings we will have a campfire.
This event is best experienced off the grid, and we ask that you plan to arrive ready to unplug for the weekend. We promise you won’t regret it, and your texts and e-mails will still be there on Sunday afternoon.
