Redemptively Known with Lisa Harper

Stasi is delighted to have Lisa Harper—speaker, author, scholar, and passionate follower of Jesus—on today’s podcast. With humor and honesty, Lisa shares her journey with Christ and the gracious unfolding of learning to be delighted in by God. God is a “with” God; he loves us so much that he chooses to be close to us no matter where we find ourselves and invites us to lean into him with confidence that we will be held and adored by the King of kings. We are divinely wired to be in intimate relationship with the Father, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit. The enemy has tried to separate us from that union from the beginning, but God’s story is all about bringing us back to his heart through the redemption that has already been woven in.

Psalm 34:4-5 (NIV) — I prayed to the Lord, and he answered me. He freed me from all my fears. Those who look to him for help will be radiant with joy; no shadow of shame will darken their faces.

Song of Song 4:9 (NIV) — You have captured my heart, my treasure, my bride. You hold it hostage with one glance of your eyes, with a single jewel of your necklace.

Hosea 2:9 (NIV) — “But now I will take back the ripened grain and new wine I generously provided each harvest season. I will take away the wool and linen clothing I gave her to cover her nakedness.

Lisa Harper is an engaging, hilarious communicator as well as an authentic and substantive Bible teacher that many enjoy hearing in person, or on countless TV and radio platforms. She holds a Master of Theological Studies from Covenant Seminary, and a doctorate-in-progress at Denver Seminary. She’s been in vocational ministry for 30 years and has written 19 books and Bible study curricula but says her greatest accomplishment by far is becoming Missy’s (her adopted daughter from Haiti) mama! They live on a hilly farmette south of Nashville, Tenn., where they enjoy eating copious amounts of chips, queso and guacamole. Her latest devotional hit the shelves on September 19, 2023.

JESUS: A Scandalously Devoted, Conspicuously Uncool, Super-Transparent Homage to Who Our Savior Is and How Much He Loves Us Devotional

Aiden Wilson Tozer Quote: “For millions of Christians, nevertheless, God is no more real than He is to the non-Christian. They go through life trying to love an ideal and be loyal to a mere principle.”

Yada` (יָדַע ; yâda) Hebrew: To be made known, be or become known, be revealed — to make oneself known — to be perceived — to know (properly, to ascertain by seeing)
