Frederick Buechner was so right when he said that we bury our wound deep, and after a while we never take it out again, let alone speak of it. But take it out we must—or even better, enter into it. Christ must touch us, and touch us where we hurt most. The biggest adventure so far in this series is this one . . . time alone with God, being with the God who longs to touch us, to heal us. It doesn’t come easy, but adventure never does. In this session, we take our wound and its message to God to listen to all he has to say to us. What we’re seeking is a deeper healing of our wound(s), and that can only come from God.
