Cory Schortzman is the son of a farmer growing up on the plains of South Dakota.  He graduated from Doane College, and is a Denver Seminary Post Graduate. He is passionate about working with men and spent 6 years working in the Nebraska State Prison System before becoming the Executive Director of Transformed Hearts Counseling Center in Colorado Springs in 2008. He is a Licensed Professional Counselor in Colorado. He is a recovering Sex addict and Sexual/Intimacy Anorexic.  Cory is  husband, father, speaker, author and therapist.  Married since to 1998 to his beautiful wife Kerry and lives in Colorado with their four daughters. He and Kerry have been seen on the CBS Early Show, Inside Edition, and ABC Good Morning America, Fox 21 News, and TLC/Discovery. Articles have been posted by AOL.com, Focus on the Family, Denver Seminary Alumni, and The Daily Beast. He has been heard on radio stations in Michigan, Nebraska, Denver and Colorado Springs.   He has written Out of the Darkness and Into the Light, Into the Light –The Steps, Ashes to Beauty –The Steps, 301 Dating Ideas, 301 Conversational Ideas, 301 Ways to Say I Love You, 301 Ways to Love Your Children and others, his wife Kerry who has written Ashes to Beauty for women.

 

Cory’s desire is to help others transform their hearts of stone into hearts of flesh that God can use for His Kingdom. Cory has personally walked the road of recovery to a life of intentional freedom, and you can too! He is passionate in helping men, women and couples of all ages do the same.

Since 2000, Cory has experience working with men, women, couples, teenagers, children and the elderly through individual, group, and/or family counseling. Cory specializes in helping men overcome sexual addiction and sexual anorexia. His experience also includes: Addictive Behaviors, Anger Management, Anxiety, Boundaries, Communication, Criminal Thinking, Crisis Intervention, Depression, Divorce, Domestic Violence, Fatherhood, Major Mental Illness, Marriage, Parenting, Relationships, Sexual Offences, Substance Abuse, Spiritual Issues, and Suicide Prevention.

Cory’s highest degree of education is a Master’s degree in Counseling from Denver Theological Seminary. He received his undergraduate degree from Doane College, located in Crete, Nebraska. Cory holds licenses with the State of Colorado. He is also a member of the National Board of Certified Counselors, as well as a certified Sexual Recovery Therapist through the American Association for Sex Addiction Therapy (AASAT). Cory resides in Colorado with his beautiful wife and 4 children.
