Beyond “faith-based” counseling, I depend upon the Holy Spirit for discernment and Jesus Christ, the Great Physician, the source of all healing.

As counselor who is first of all a Christ-follower, I understand that human problems are usually a combination of the physical, mental/emotional, and spiritual aspects of our humanity, and I approach them as such. My goal is to see each client through the loving, forgiving eyes of Jesus. Through listening prayer, and other techniques compatible with Biblical faith, I work with clients to uncover root beliefs which prevent them from living the abundant life. I have assisted clients with depression, anxiety, grief, family of origin issues, abuse, addiction, obsessive disorders, and spiritual issues, among others. Additionally, I enjoy coming alongside the parents of children with developmental disabilities, assisting them to create parenting strategies that suit the unique needs of their family. 

I am a Master’s level Counselor in Residence, under the supervision of Peter Schmidt, LPC, LMFT, CSAC, of Peter Schmidt Counseling & Consulting, while I accrue the necessary number of hours to earn the Licensed Professional Counselor credential. I am also a member of the American Association of Christian Counselors.
