I am a licensed counselor with over 30 years experience. I have come to know through both personal and professional experience that most "mental health" and "addictions" problems have at its root a breakdown of relationships. Underneath most of the symtpoms that bring people to counsleing lie a failure to love. That is, my client's lives are filled with examples of a failure to love, i.e, their parents didn't love them well (or abandoned them), others disappointed and hurt them, and they have not fully taken into their heart the unconditional love of Jesus. I work with my clients on helping them with a spiritual and relational quest with Jesus and with others that will restore a healthy love of God, neighbor, and self. Once this happens, most, if not all, of their symtpoms disappear!
