I am a volunteer with the Chesapeake Jail Ministry Foundation at the Cheapeake Correctional Center in Cheapeake, Va.

I perform my ministry by roaming throughout the jail and meeting inmates, sharing a few details of our life stories and handing out "good news" literature for them to read and think about until I return for my next visit with them. One of the best items I give out is "EPIC."  For a quick read, it effectively introduces the concept of spirituality, conveys an understanding of the love of God for us, and provides relief for those who have dead-ended with religion.

I have become addicted to seeing despair displaced by hope. I try to help folks come to the realization that they are in the valley of their lives where the potential for spiritual growth is at its peak.  When they get to the point of realizing that incarceration is a blessing in disquise (because they would not have taken the time to find God as long as they were out in the world), I know they have reached a milestone.

The Chesapeake Jail Ministry is a 501(c) non-profit organization. Our support is provided solely by private contributions and fund-raising events.

Our purpose is to assure that every accessible inmate is exposed to the restoration power of the Gospel, through a team ministry approach.

Our mission is to bring restoration to those incarcerated by seeing souls saved and lives transformed by the Gospel.
