It was a life giving event when we first read Wild at Heart and it has lead us to pass on the blessing we received to other Christian men. We meet every other Sunday night from 5:30 to 7:30 as we read and discuss three books: Epic, Wild at Heart and Fathered by God, all authored by John Eldredge. 

God has led us to pursue the hearts of men so that they would grow closer and stronger in their walk with the Father and to help them Live in the fullness of the entire Gospel of His son, Jesus. Our mentors and this study have done that for us where the church left us lacking. 

The masculine heart deeply desires an adventure to live, a battle to fight and a beauty to win. Most men, however, live a life resigned to a dutiful, bored and shallow existence because they feel the adventure is over, the battle is lost and that beauty exists only in Magazines, on TV or the Internet. They live this way while their wives and children wither on the vine. In reality, we all have a vital role in the Epic story that the Father has authored and a warrior's position on the earthly battlefield where Good and Evil still contend. Sadly most men choose to focus on a much smaller story centered around themselves unaware of the fierce battle going on around them.

Men also must know the answer to our question: Do I have what it takes? Am I a man? This question is best answered by our dads. Unfortunately, many men through no fault of their own do not have this final answer and take their questions to the wrong places. Our wives, careers, hobbies, hang ups and habits can give a temporary answer and can just as easily take it away. Only God, our eternal Father, can give us the blessing we need. Jesus received his in Matthew 3:16 and 17:4 from his Father, witnessed by other affirmed men of heroic stature. Secure in this answer, a man can live life as God intended, in strength, abundance, fully engaged, prepared to love and fully alive!
