I am a soldier and am often in other parts of the world, either conducting warfare or preparing for it. This place is my home. It is where I share my story and live it under a great king, lead pastor Greg Lindsey.
DCC is a place where you are welcome as you are...broken. No judgement, no shame...because everyone else there is broken too and no better than you. Others are maybe just a little further down the road of discovering who God meant them to be in this world. Some of my closest friends are here because of the things we have experienced and discovered together.
My wife and I attended a church in FL that taught us how much bigger the Gospel is than just "fire insurance." When we moved to Colorado Springs we craved a similar message. It took a while but we found DCC, and we got that message but even to a greater level. We learned Jesus is still at work to heal our broken hearts and set them free. The teaching is challenging but also uplifting. The WAH and Captivating groups and retreats are powerful, and most importantly we are part of a church with a bunch of folks chasing after the same thing: a better life, "the life to the fullest" that Jesus promises. It is not perfect by any means. The music is loud and I don't love laser lights, but the heart of the church is true and good. I love that all are truly welcome. I've been part of other churches that claim to welcome all, but if a gay person or a homeless man walked through the door I am certain they'd receive a cold shoulder. Not at DCC, all are truly welcome. I want to be part of a church that really means that, just as Jesus welcomed all. No one, even the ministry team, thinks they are holier than a newcomer, and that is so important if you really want to bring the Gospel to others. No ones to hear from someone else how holy they are and how we can become like them. That is not the Gospel. DCC understands that.
From the first time I heard Greg I was hooked. He speaks in a way that makes you feel that he is talking directly to you. My wife and I have been attending DCC for 6 months and have found our home.
We found DCC shortly after moving to Colorado Springs in 2012. This was our first church to visit and we've been here ever since. The Wild at Heart message is an amazing way to live your life. Greg speaks to my heart every week.
I've been going to DCC for about 6 years now. This was the first church my wife and I attended in Colorado Springs after PCSing here. We didn't need to "shop" at all, we hit the jackpot on the first one and have been coming here since! Greg speaks directly to your heart, almost like he is looking at you and sending the message directly to you! I've been involved with the Wild at Heart message for several years now and believe it to be what changed my life from a "Sunday Christian" to a life on mission!! I am definitely on mission with this church, spiritually, emotionally and financially!! I've learned the destination is clear, but it's the journey that counts!! Rock on DCC!!
God used this place and the Wild at Heart message to completely change my life!! I love this church. All of your story is safe and welcome here. They meet you where you are at, but love you too much to let you stay there. The Wild at Heart message is foundational here and it permeates everything they do and how the act and speak.
