A man needs a deeper understanding of his masculine heart—and why God made him just like that. What if those deep desires in our hearts are telling us the truth, revealing to us the lives we were meant to live? A man must know he is powerful; he must know he has what it takes. The way we handle the heart is everything. Basic is not a retreat about the “seven things a man ought to do to be a nicer guy.” It is a four-day quest into the recovery of a man’s masculine soul, the release of a man’s heart—his passions and his true nature—all given him by God.
This Wild at Heart Basic will take place at Wild Ridge Young Life camp in New River Gorge National Park, June 1st - 4th, 2023. The newly constructed lodge is located 25 minutes west of Summersville, WV, and sits on top of cliffs that overlook the Gauley River. The weekend will begin with dinner at 6 p.m. on Thursday evening and end around 1 p.m. on Sunday afternoon. The cost of the weekend includes lodging and food; however, you also have the opportunity to join a 1/2 day whitewater rafting adventure on the New River. This part of the retreat is optional, costs an additional $95, and must be registered for separately (details will be provided after registering for the retreat).
